Hello, I am Dr. Somnath Acharya, an experimental condensed matter physicist.

I am currently a Post-doctoral researcher at Yonsei University in the Republic of Korea, working with Prof. Woochul Kim since July 2020. I completed my Ph.D in the school of Basics Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT-Mandi), India. Under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Soni, I explored the physical properties of bulk metal chalcogenide materials for thermoelectric applications. After the successful completion of my Ph.D., I transitioned seamlessly into a prestigious Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, working closely with esteemed Prof. Satish Vitta. My research pursuits revolve around the intricate realm of materials science, with a specialized focus on the design, synthesis, and comprehensive characterization of advanced materials. Delving deep into the realms of electronic, thermal, and magnetic properties, my work centers on the exploration of diverse material classes, including thermoelectric materials, semiconductors, chalcogenides, oxides, and topological insulators. My dedication to advancing scientific understanding and pushing the boundaries of materials research is unwavering. Through meticulous experimentation and analysis, I aim to contribute novel insights and solutions to pressing challenges in this field. As I continue my journey at the forefront of scientific inquiry, I remain committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in pursuit of groundbreaking discoveries.
